Martin Prihoda

Martin Prihoda is a Canadian photographer, author and podcast host based on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. He began an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Simon Fraser University before leaving to pursue his true passion, studying film and photography at Vancouver Film School and Langara College. He subsequently relocated to India, where he spent a decade building one of the country's most successful advertising and fashion photography careers.

Working out of Mumbai, Martin shot covers and campaigns for GQ India, Vogue India, Harper's Bazaar, Wired UK and leading Indian ad agencies, photographing some of Bollywood's most prominent figures including Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Virat Kohli. He founded his own production company and led shoots across India and internationally.

Alongside his commercial work, Martin studied yoga philosophy with teachers including Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu at the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh — a practice that would shape the direction of his work after returning to Canada.

He returned to Canada in 2023 and settled on Salt Spring Island, where he wrote The Weary Traveller's Guide to a Life Worth Living — a book on mindfulness, meditation and self-inquiry, available on Amazon.

Martin now hosts Odyssey & Alchemy, a podcast featuring in-depth conversations with leading voices in spirituality, psychology and inner transformation. Guests have included WarriorSage founder Satyen Raja, Blissology founder Eoin Finn, Hakomi Senior Trainer Marcia Burton, and Himalayan Yoga Master Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu. The show ranks in the top 100 Mental Health category on Apple Podcasts in India.
